Box City - A Ludum Dare 43 Game

Box City is a "point and click" game that revolves around creating a city with the money and resources you have. The city must be environmentally friendly but also have a booming economy. Having too much of either can lead to terrible consequences, Therefore, sacrifices must be made.

Mechanics:
The game is purely pointing your cursor upon different components of the video game world, and manipulating them as you see fit. In the upper right-hand corner, you will see different statistics, and information about your city such as your money, power, and pollution level. You can also upgrade the different components, and they all have different effects, not all positive. 

How it's related to the theme:
There are many aspects of this game that handicap the player into difficult circumstances that require sacrifice. The brilliant thing about it, however, is that it is all player driven. There is never a moment when the game arbitrarily forces you into a scenario that you yourself didn't get yourself into. From the limited number of spaces you can place buildings, to the pollution, lack of money, and even buildings themselves becoming the problem, it is all player driven, never forced.
